About
InternVL2-8B is an instruction-tuned multimodal model from OpenGVLab's InternVL 2.0 family, released in July 2024. It combines the InternViT-300M-448px vision encoder with the internlm2_5-7b-chat language backbone, trained with an 8K context window over long texts, multiple images, and video.
The 2.0 generation improved document and chart comprehension, OCR, infographics QA, and scientific problem solving versus InternVL 1.5, positioning it competitively with proprietary models on several vision-language benchmarks. It is released under the MIT license, with the language component under Apache 2.0.
