About
Yi-34B-Chat is the instruction-tuned chat variant of 01.AI's 34-billion-parameter Yi model, released in November 2023. Trained from scratch on a 3-trillion-token multilingual corpus, the Yi series was among the strongest bilingual Chinese-English open models of its generation, with the chat version supporting extended context up to 200K tokens via RoPE scaling.
The model ships under Apache 2.0, making it one of the most permissively licensed high-quality bilingual models available. It remains a solid choice for Chinese-English workloads on local hardware, running well quantized on a single 24GB GPU.
