YandexGPT 4

YandexGPT 4 is the fourth generation of Yandex's proprietary large language model family, launched on October 24, 2024 in Pro and Lite variants. Yandex reported the Pro version winning 70% of side-by-side comparisons against the previous generation, with performance described as near GPT-4o on open-ended questions, and both models handling around 60 pages of text (32K context).

The models were trained on step-by-step problem-solving examples for improved reasoning, with better RAG behavior and generation of commands for external applications. They are proprietary and served through the Yandex Cloud API and Yandex AI Studio, with a Lite version for high-volume, low-latency scenarios. YandexGPT 5 Pro followed in February 2025.
