About

Salesforce's 8B action model fine-tuned for function calling and multi-turn agent conversations, built on Llama 3.1 with 128K context.

It's the practical end of the xLAM family: small enough to run locally (GGUF builds exist for llama.cpp), purpose-built for wiring agents to tools. One of the few small models where tool use is the primary design goal rather than an afterthought.
