VoiSona
Japan's commercial AI singing synthesizer: a free editor with an included voice, plus a growing cast of purchasable AI singers, running standalone or as a VST plugin in your DAW.
About
VoiSona (formerly CeVIO Pro) is Techno-Speech's commercial AI singing voice synthesizer and the successor to the CeVIO voice technology. After an alpha in February 2022 and a beta that June, the production release shipped September 1, 2022 for Windows and Mac, with iOS/iPadOS following in December 2024. It works as a standalone editor and as a VSTi/AU plugin inside a DAW: you place notes on a piano roll, assign lyrics (Japanese and English supported), import MIDI or MusicXML, and the AI renders a natural singing voice with freehand control over pitch, vibrato, timing, voice quality and huskiness. The business model is freemium. The editor is free and ships with the Chis-A voice library, while additional AI singers are sold as monthly (880 yen), annual (6,600 yen) or outright-purchase plans, with new voices still being added (a Mandarin library, Yurin, launched October 2025). Voice libraries bought for CeVIO AI can be activated in VoiSona at no extra cost.

Benchmarks
- No published objective benchmarks or MOS figures; quality is judged by ear and by the professional producer community using it
- Commercial adoption: multi-year product with a growing voice catalog and iOS expansion
Provider-reported unless a source says otherwise. Benchmarks are marketing-adjacent by nature — treat them as directional.
Use cases
Trust score — 7/10
Scored 7/10 (TIER metrics, metrics-v1). Evidence: a real shipping product from an established Japanese voice-tech company, in production since September 2022 with continued voice-library releases through 2025 and an iOS expansion. Strengths: the freemium model lets anyone try the actual AI voices free, VSTi/AU support fits professional workflows, and Techno-Speech's CeVIO lineage is credible. Docked for: (1) proprietary and closed, no weights, no code, no published benchmarks; (2) quality claims are marketing, not measurements; (3) the voice catalog skews Japanese, and pricing is per-voice. License: proprietary commercial.
