Tower 7B

Tower 7B is an open large language model from Unbabel focused on translation-related work. Built on continued pretraining of Llama 2 into TowerBase and instruction-tuned on the TowerBlocks dataset, it handles machine translation at sentence, paragraph and document level, terminology- and context-aware translation, automatic post-editing, named-entity recognition, grammatical error correction and paraphrase generation.\n\nIt covers ten languages — English, Portuguese, Spanish, French, German, Dutch, Italian, Korean, Chinese and Russian — and was positioned at release as a translation specialist that punches above its weight against general-purpose models on multilingual benchmarks.\n\nThe model is released under CC-BY-NC-4.0, so it is freely available for research and non-commercial use but not for commercial deployment. Note the Llama 2 base license terms also apply.
