SuperSplat

Free, MIT-licensed browser editor for cleaning, optimizing, and publishing Gaussian splats.

About

SuperSplat is PlayCanvas's open-source tool for working with 3D Gaussian splats entirely in the browser. You load a captured splat, then select, transform, recolor, and delete splats with brush, lasso, and sphere tools, compress the scene, and export to PLY or SOG formats. One-click publishing gives you a shareable link or an embeddable viewer, and a recent addition can scaffold a full PlayCanvas plus TypeScript starter project from any splat.

It is completely free and MIT-licensed on GitHub, and the 3.0 editor was rebuilt on WebGPU in 2026, cutting memory use dramatically on multi-million-splat scenes. For anyone capturing with Postshot, Polycam, or Luma, it is the standard cleanup step before shipping a splat to the web.

Trust score — 7/10

/10 trustVerified

Scored 7/10 (verified tier, metrics-v1). Evidence: official PlayCanvas project with MIT license confirmed via the repo; actively developed, with the WebGPU 3.0 rebuild shipping in 2026. Strengths: free, open, best-in-class browser splat editor with publishing built in. Docked for: (1) it is an editor rather than a generative model, so it depends on captures from other tools; (2) the 3.0 editor requires a WebGPU-capable browser. License: MIT.

7.0/10
  • · PlayCanvas; free browser-based Gaussian splat editor; 3.0 rebuilt on WebGPU (2026)
  • · Selection/editing/compression tools; PLY/SOG export; one-click publish + embed
  • · 3.0: 4.4M-splat scene idle memory 1,557MB to 105MB (provider-reported)
  • · Editor, not a generative model; 3.0 needs WebGPU-capable browser
