SeaLLM 7B v2 is an open multilingual language model for Southeast Asia from the SeaLLMs research team, described in a December 2023 technical report. Continue-pretrained from Mistral-7B with carefully designed reasoning-focused tuning, it targets Vietnamese, Indonesian, Thai, Malay, Burmese, Khmer, Lao, Tagalog, Tamil, and Chinese alongside English.\n\nWeights are released openly under the SeaLLMs Terms of Use. It was reported as the only open-source multilingual model competitive with similar-size monolingual models on the Vietnamese VMLU benchmark, and GGUF and MLX conversions exist for local deployment.
