About
Movie Gen is Meta's family of media foundation models for generating and editing realistic video from text prompts, announced in October 2024. The suite pairs a 30-billion-parameter video model (up to 16 seconds at 16 fps) with a 13-billion-parameter audio model that generates up to 45 seconds of synchronized ambient sound, music, and Foley, plus text-based video editing and personalized video from a reference photo.
It remains a research preview: Meta said at announcement that it was too expensive and slow for public release, so weights and API access are not available, and independent evaluation is limited to Meta's own demos and the Blumhouse filmmaker pilot.
