MAI-Voice-2.1-Flash
The fast, high-volume sibling of MAI-Voice-2.1 — same 23 languages, tuned for responsive live conversation.
About
MAI-Voice-2.1-Flash, released October 1, 2026 by Microsoft AI, is the latency-optimized sibling of MAI-Voice-2.1. It supports the same 23 languages and cross-language voice identities but is built for responsive, high-volume voice applications where reply time matters more than maximum expressiveness.
It completes Microsoft's first-party voice-agent pipeline on Foundry: MAI-Transcribe-2-Streaming hears (~130ms to first partials), a reasoning model thinks (~350ms), and Voice-2.1-Flash starts speaking (~150ms), for a full conversational turn in well under one second.
Like its siblings it launched in public preview through Azure Speech in Microsoft Foundry, with no SLA until general availability.
