About

LFM2 is Liquid AI's second-generation family of small foundation models, launched July 10, 2025. Instead of pure transformers, it uses a hybrid of short convolutions and grouped-query attention, which Liquid says delivers strong quality at very low latency on CPUs and phones. The 1.2B flagship runs a 33K-token context and is open-weight under Liquid's own LFM Open License v1.0 — permissive but not OSI-approved, with restrictions above certain revenue thresholds.
