Kyutai STT 1B
Streaming English-French speech recognition with half-second delay.
About
Kyutai STT 1B is a streaming speech-to-text model from French lab Kyutai, released as kyutai/stt-1b-en_fr. It is a decoder-only Transformer that consumes audio tokenized by the Mimi codec and starts emitting transcripts within about 0.5 seconds, making it suited to live captioning and voice agents rather than offline batch jobs.
It covers English and French, returns word-level timestamps, and includes a semantic voice activity detector for knowing when a user is speaking. Weights are released under CC-BY 4.0.
