Kimi for Coding

Kimi for Coding is the model ID served on Moonshot AI's Kimi Code subscription endpoint (api.kimi.com/coding/v1), with the model ID stable since September 2026 while the underlying model was upgraded (reportedly to a Kimi K2.8 Preview). It offers roughly K3-level coding performance with a 1-million-token context window and low/high/max thinking settings, available to all Kimi memberships.

It is the companion to kimi-for-coding-highspeed (a faster K2.7 Code variant for higher tiers). Access is subscription-based through the Kimi Code plan with Anthropic-compatible and OpenAI-compatible endpoints, not a standalone public release; plan details and limits change, so verify on Moonshot's current docs.
