About
Granite Code (May 2024) is IBM Research's family of decoder-only code models from 3B to 34B, in base and instruction variants, trained on code from 116 programming languages and released under Apache 2.0 for enterprise software workflows — generation, explanation, fixing, test generation, and modernization. Note the honest caveat: IBM has since marked these checkpoints deprecated on Hugging Face in favor of its mainline Granite family, so treat them as a historical reference rather than a live recommendation. Still useful for studying enterprise-oriented open code models.
