Falcon-ASR

Falcon-ASR is a 1.6-billion-parameter automatic speech recognition model launched by TII alongside Falcon-Emirati in October 2026. It transcribes spoken Standard and Emirati Arabic plus English, French, Spanish, and Portuguese into text, targeting multilingual customer service, meeting transcription, subtitling, and accessibility tooling across the UAE's linguistically diverse population. TII positions it as delivering leading Emirati and Arabic transcription accuracy.

The honest picture: public third-party benchmarks for Falcon-ASR are scarce at launch — TII's 'leading' claim rests on its own evaluations. At 1.6B parameters it is efficient, but large multilingual ASR systems from bigger labs have deeper language breadth, and real-world accuracy on noisy audio remains to be independently tested.
