About

Dadabots is the long-running project of Berklee graduates CJ Carr and Zack Zukowski, who describe it as part band, part hackathon team, part research lab. The signature work is Relentless Doppelganger: a SampleRNN trained on raw waveforms of Archspire's Relentless Mutation, generating an endless 24/7 death metal stream that has been running for years, alongside streams in mathcore, jazz, and breakcore.

They have released 10+ albums on Bandcamp, published peer-reviewed research on neural music synthesis, collaborated with artists like Reeps One, Silverstein, and Vulvodynia, and open-sourced tools including Stable Audio Tools, DadaGP, and SampleRNN implementations. Everything is free, and the project's willingness to publish failed models alongside the good ones makes it a cultural landmark in AI music.

Trust score — 6/10

/10 trustMetrics-checked

Scored 6/10 (metrics tier, metrics-v1). Evidence: project running since 2017 with 2018 paper and sustained press coverage (The Verge, Engadget, Revolver, ScienceAlert) confirming the 24/7 streams; dadabots.com confirmed as official site via YouTube descriptions; open-source tools (DadaGP, Stable Audio Tools) published. Strengths: pioneering and culturally significant, long-lived, genuinely open, everything free. Docked for: (1) no quantitative quality evaluation exists; (2) it is an art/research project, not a usable generation tool with a prompt interface; (3) streams are raw-audio experiments, niche by design. License: varies by tool; main tools open source.
