CodeQwen1.5 (spring 2024) is Alibaba's 7B code model that Qwen2.5-Coder directly succeeded — the Qwen team's own reports frame Qwen2.5-Coder as bringing major improvements 'upon CodeQwen1.5' in generation, reasoning, and fixing. It was a strong 7B coder for its time (team-reported HumanEval 83.5 for the chat variant).
