About
3DTopia-XL is a native 3D generative model rather than a 2D-diffusion distillation trick. Its core idea is PrimX, a primitive-based 3D representation that encodes shape, albedo and material fields into a compact tensor, which a Diffusion Transformer then learns to generate directly. That gives it something most generators skip: real PBR materials, so the exported GLB drops into a game engine or renderer with spatially-varying textures that respond to light.
It was accepted as a CVPR 2025 Highlight, with both inference and training code released under Apache 2.0 and weights on Hugging Face. It takes either a text prompt or a single image, and the output mesh is decimated and packed for glTF. The community is smaller than the TRELLIS or Hunyuan3D crowds, but for teams that need material-aware assets rather than just textured shells, it's one of the few open options.
