About

Zapier MCP connects AI assistants to Zapier's integration network through the Model Context Protocol: one server URL gives a client governed access to 9,000+ apps, so an agent can send a Slack message, pull rows from a sheet, or trigger a multi-step Zap without custom code or infrastructure. Access is governed rather than open-ended, and Zapier cites SOC 2 Type II certification for the hosted service.

This repo distributes the official MCP plugin: the piece that lives in your AI client and layers guided onboarding, a first-use demo, and role-tailored skills on top of the base server connection, with install paths for Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Copilot CLI, Kiro, and Gemini CLI. The repo itself is small (438 stars, last pushed July 2026) because the product is the hosted service, not the code here; docs.zapier.com/mcp is the real source of truth. The honest framing: this is the easiest way to give an agent real-world actions, but you are buying into Zapier's platform, its task-based pricing, and the usual caution about letting agents touch production systems.

What it can do

  • Governed MCP access to 9,000+ apps from any MCP-compatible client
  • Plain-English actions: send messages, pull data, trigger multi-step workflows
  • Client plugin with guided onboarding, demo, and role-tailored skills
  • One-click installs for Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Copilot CLI, Kiro, Gemini CLI
  • SOC 2 Type II certified hosted service; no code or infrastructure to run
  • Listed on the official MCP registry

Setup

  1. Connect the server in your MCP client with the URL https://mcp.zapier.com/api/v1/connect (per-client steps at docs.zapier.com/mcp/clients).
  2. Optionally install the plugin from your client's marketplace (e.g. add zapier/marketplace in Claude Code) for guided onboarding and role-tailored skills.
  3. Authenticate with your Zapier account and approve which apps and actions the assistant may use.
  4. Ask in plain English: the assistant discovers available actions and executes them through your Zaps.

Prerequisites

A Zapier account; an MCP-compatible AI client (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Copilot CLI, Kiro, Gemini CLI, etc.).

Trust score — 6/10

/10 trustMetrics-checked

Scored 6/10 (metrics tier, metrics-v1). Evidence: 438 GitHub stars (GitHub API), MIT, pushed Jul 29 2026; the README corroborates the 9,000+ app claim, the plugin distribution model, and the client install paths; zapier.com/mcp and docs.zapier.com corroborate the hosted service. Strengths: official Zapier distribution, the fastest path to real-world agent actions, SOC 2 Type II. Docked for: (1) thin repo activity, the product is the hosted service not the code; (2) platform lock-in and task-based pricing; (3) agent access to production systems needs careful governance.
