About

Youper is an AI therapy app that talks users through their emotional ups and downs with short guided conversations. After a two-minute onboarding it asks how you feel, helps you name the emotion, and suggests a technique drawn from cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, or acceptance and commitment therapy. Daily mood check-ins feed a tracking view that maps emotional patterns over time.

The app is free to download with a limited free tier, and full access runs about $69.99 a year in the US after a trial. Youper states that more than 80 percent of users feel better after a single conversation and that it was created with doctors and therapists. It is explicit that it does not provide diagnosis or treatment and positions itself as a complement to professional care rather than a replacement.

Trust score — 5/10

/10 trustMetrics-checked

Scored 5/10 (TIER metrics, metrics-v1). Evidence: independent 2026 reviews confirm the conversational CBT/ACT approach, the mood-tracking loop, and the $69.99/year premium pricing; company copy confirms the 80-percent-feel-better claim and the no-diagnosis disclaimer. Strengths: long-running product, clear CBT grounding, generous free tier, honest about limits. Docked for: (1) headline efficacy figures are vendor-reported with no peer-reviewed RCT found; (2) closed app with no published clinical outcomes data. License: proprietary.
