Yaak
Local-first, open-source desktop API client by the Insomnia creator.
About
Yaak is a local-first desktop API client for REST, GraphQL, WebSocket, server-sent events and gRPC, built with Tauri, Rust and React. It was started by Greg Schier, the developer who originally created Insomnia before its sale to Kong, as a deliberate return to a fast, private tool with no signup, telemetry or cloud lock-in.
It imports collections from Postman, Insomnia, OpenAPI and curl, supports OAuth 2.0 and JWT auth, chains requests with dynamic references, encrypts local secrets, mirrors workspaces to the filesystem for Git versioning, and can be extended with plugins. The project is MIT-licensed and funded by community-purchased licenses.
What it can do
