About
Wonder Studio by Wonder Dynamics is a cloud-based 3D animation and VFX platform that uses AI to track an actor's performance from ordinary video footage and retarget it onto a CGI character. The workflow uploads live-action shots and returns finished CG-character footage with camera tracking, lighting, and physics, collapsing weeks of traditional VFX work into hours. It exports to Maya, Blender, and Unreal Engine for final refinement.
Founded in 2017 by VFX artist Nikola Todorovic and actor Tye Sheridan, the company was acquired by Autodesk in May 2024 (reported at about $131M). The product continues to operate as Wonder Studio within Autodesk's Media and Entertainment portfolio. It is aimed at filmmakers and VFX artists who want blockbuster-level character work without motion-capture stages or frame-by-frame cleanup.
