About
Wonder Studio, the flagship of Wonder Dynamics (founded 2017 by VFX supervisor Nikola Todorovic and actor Tye Sheridan), uses 25+ AI/ML models to track an actor's performance from ordinary footage and replace them with a CG character — camera tracking, lighting, and animation handled automatically, collapsing weeks of VFX work into hours for indie filmmakers.
Autodesk acquired the company in May 2024, betting on AI-assisted character workflows inside its Media & Entertainment cloud (Flow) alongside Maya. It excels at full-body humanoid replacement; partial-body work, prop interaction, and non-humanoid creatures still belong in traditional pipelines, and output typically needs a DCC pass for final quality.
