About
Wix ADI (Artificial Design Intelligence) launched in June 2016 as the first mainstream AI website builder, generating a complete personalized site from answers to a few questions about the business. The AI selected layouts, images, and copy, which users could then refine in a drag-and-drop editor. Coverage at the time framed it as the first AI solution for website design and creation.
Lifecycle note: Wix retired ADI on November 10, 2024. Existing ADI sites now open in the standard Wix Editor, and AI site creation moved to the Wix AI website builder, now part of Wix Harmony (launched January 2026) with an AI agent called Aria. It is included here as a historical entry documenting the product that defined the AI website builder category.
