whoami

A Claude Code skill that profiles you so AI agents start with real context.

About

whoami scans your machine (git identity, toolchains, shell history, AI-agent session logs) and runs a short grounded interview, then writes a single portable profile.md any LLM agent can load in seconds. It runs fully locally with zero network calls and redacts secrets by default.

Honest limitations: the profile is only as good as the signals on your disk, so a fresh machine gives a thin result. The scan is a bash script you should audit before running, and re-running is the only way to keep the profile current.

What it can do

  • Machine context scanning (git, toolchains, shell history)
  • Grounded onboarding interview
  • Portable profile.md for any LLM agent
  • Zero network calls, secrets redacted

Setup

  1. In Claude Code, run /plugin marketplace add luckeyfaraday/whoami.
  2. Run /plugin install whoami@luckeyfaraday.
  3. Run /whoami (or ask to be onboarded) and answer the interview questions.

Prerequisites

Claude Code (or another agent that can read a Markdown profile). A Unix-like shell for the scanner script.
