Weblate
Open-source continuous localization platform integrated with Git.
About
Weblate is an open-source web-based localization platform that treats translation as a continuous process inside version control. Translators work in a browser while Weblate commits their work back to the Git repository automatically, so translation status is always visible per language and the spreadsheet-export ritual disappears.
Written in Python and Django and licensed GPLv3+, it supports common formats like PO, XLIFF, Android strings, iOS strings, and JSON, with translation memory, quality checks, and a full REST API. It is used by LibreOffice, Fedora, Debian, F-Droid, Kodi, and Tor among thousands of projects, with a commercial company behind it since 2024 offering hosted plans and free hosting for libre projects.
