Vidu AI
AI video generator with native audio — dialogue, SFX and music rendered in the same pass as the footage.
About
Vidu is Shengshu Technology's AI video platform, built by a team out of Tsinghua University in Beijing. Its standout trick arrived with the Q3 model in January 2026: it generates picture and soundtrack together in a single pass, so dialogue, sound effects and music come out synced to the motion instead of dubbed on afterwards. Clips run up to 16 seconds at 1080p, and you can feed it up to 7 reference images to keep characters consistent across shots. The Q4 preview, launched October 2026, pushes to 4K with 10-bit color and up to 15 reference images.
The honest picture: the free tier is a trial, not a tool — 80 credits a month, 8-second ceiling, 720p, a visible watermark and no commercial rights. Paid plans start around $10/month, and costs scale with quality mode, so a minute of top-tier footage adds up. Reviewers also note photorealistic human motion still lags behind its anime and stylized output, and credit-based pricing means every failed generation still costs you.
