About

Tripo 3.0 is the flagship release of Tripo AI, the generative-3D product line of VAST, launched August 2025. Built on the SparseFlex architecture (accepted at ICCV), it turns text prompts, single images, multi-view sets, or rough sketches into textured 3D assets with up to 2-million-polygon geometry, clean topology, and PBR textures — plus Gaussian splat output. Tripo Studio runs in the browser with part segmentation, pose and symmetry controls, auto-rigging with skeleton export, Smart Low Poly optimization, and batch generation; a REST API and DCC Bridge plugins (Blender, Maya, Unity, Unreal, Godot) carry results into production pipelines.

The honest picture: free tier is 200–300 credits/month (roughly 8–12 models) with non-commercial CC BY 4.0 licensing — commercial rights require paid plans (Pro ~$20/mo). The v2 API was sunset in November 2026, so old integrations needed migration to v3. Versus Meshy, Tripo is the better default for fast iteration and lower cost, but Meshy-6 wins on geometry detail and 3D printing workflows.

What it can do

  • Text/image/sketch to textured 3D mesh and Gaussian splats
  • Auto-rigging with skeleton and animation export
  • Part segmentation and Smart Low Poly optimization
  • Batch generation for asset pipelines
  • REST API plus DCC Bridge for major 3D tools

Setup

Sign up at Tripo AI; generate in the browser-based Tripo Studio. Use the REST API or DCC Bridge for pipeline integration.

Prerequisites

A web browser; a paid plan for private models and commercial use.
