Tripo

AI-native 3D creation platform — text-to-3D, image-to-3D, texturing and auto-rigging in one place.

About

Tripo is an all-in-one AI 3D platform from VAST AI covering the full asset workflow: text-to-3D, image-to-3D, AI texturing, model segmentation, auto-rigging and stylization, with export to OBJ, FBX, STL, USDZ and GLB. Tripo Studio 3.0 added what the company calls spatial intelligence for more production-ready output. What sets it apart is the open-source bench behind it: TripoSR (fast), TripoSG (a 1.5B-parameter rectified-flow model for watertight, game-ready meshes, MIT licensed) and TripoSF are all public, with papers and weights on Hugging Face.

The honest picture: AI-generated meshes still need cleanup for hero assets — topology is good for blocking and background props, but expect to retouch edge flow and UVs for anything close-up. The open models need a CUDA GPU with 8GB+ VRAM to run locally, and TripoSG is geometry-only, so texturing is a separate step. Pricing is subscription-based and scales with team size, which can sting for indie developers who just need occasional assets.

What it can do

  • Text-to-3D and image-to-3D generation
  • AI texturing, segmentation and auto-rigging
  • TripoSG open model for watertight meshes (MIT)
  • Tripo Doodle: sketch-plus-text 3D prototyping
  • Export to OBJ, FBX, STL, USDZ, GLB/GLTF

Setup

Use Tripo Studio in the browser at tripo3d.ai, or run the open models locally via the VAST-AI-Research/TripoSG GitHub repo and Hugging Face spaces.

Prerequisites

A Tripo account for the platform. Local inference needs a CUDA GPU with 8GB+ VRAM and Python 3.10.
