Trint
Newsroom-grade AI transcription with collaborative editing and Story Builder.
About
Trint is a transcription platform built by journalists, for journalists — and it shows. Beyond AI transcription in 40+ languages, its real product is the editorial workflow around the transcript: full-library keyword search across all your files, real-time collaborative editing where collaborators don't need a Trint account, a custom dictionary for names and beat-specific jargon, and Story Builder for assembling narratives from multiple interviews. It exports directly to video-editing project formats (XML for Premiere Pro and Final Cut, EDL for Media Composer), so broadcast teams can go from transcript to rough cut without manual timecode matching.
It's expensive: Starter runs about $80/seat/month (300 transcription minutes), Advanced about $100/seat/month (1,200 minutes), with no pay-as-you-go option — per-seat billing means you pay even for months you barely transcribe. Trint is ISO 27001 certified and promises never to train on customer files, but advanced security features are gated behind higher tiers. If you're a newsroom or documentary team, the workflow fit is excellent; for general business transcription, cheaper rivals will do.
