About

Taplytics was an experimentation platform founded in 2011 in Toronto, Canada (Y Combinator-backed) that pioneered visual A/B testing for native mobile apps: marketers could edit live apps without app-store resubmission, alongside code-based experiments, feature flags, and push/retention tooling. It served enterprise clients including Comcast, RBC, and CarMax.

Taplytics no longer exists as a product. The company decommissioned the Taplytics platform entirely and relaunched as DevCycle, its feature-management successor; the same team and customer base moved over, and DevCycle itself was then acquired by Dynatrace in January 2026. This entry is kept for historical completeness — anyone evaluating it today should look at DevCycle instead.

What it can do

  • Historical: visual A/B testing for native mobile apps
  • Code-based experiments and feature flags
  • Live in-app edits without resubmission
  • Audience targeting and detailed reporting
  • All capabilities now live on in DevCycle

Setup

Not available — the Taplytics platform has been permanently shut down. See DevCycle for the successor.

Prerequisites

None — the product is decommissioned.

Trust score — 6/10

/10 trustMetrics-checked

Scored 6/10 (METRICS tier, metrics-v1). Evidence: founded 2011 in Toronto, YC-backed, enterprise customers (Comcast, RBC, CarMax) documented by Datanyze/CB Insights; GitHub org confirms 'Taplytics is now DevCycle' and platform decommissioning. Strengths: genuinely pioneered visual mobile A/B testing; team and technology live on in DevCycle. Docked for: (1) product no longer exists — zero utility as a standalone choice; (2) kept in catalog only as historical reference; (3) acquisition lineage (Dynatrace, Jan 2026) adds another hop. License: was proprietary SaaS.
