SuperGateway
Run MCP stdio servers over SSE, WebSocket, or Streamable HTTP with one command.
About
SuperGateway is an open-source AI gateway that bridges MCP transport protocols. It runs a stdio-based MCP server and exposes it over SSE, WebSocket, or Streamable HTTP, making local stdio-only MCP servers reachable over HTTP for remote access, debugging, or web-based clients.
It also works in reverse, connecting to remote SSE or Streamable HTTP servers and exposing them locally via stdio, with OAuth2 bearer and custom header support. A multi-server config mode runs several stdio-backed MCP servers behind one gateway, and it is maintained alongside the Superinterface ecosystem.
What it can do
- stdio to SSE, WebSocket, and Streamable HTTP bridging
- SSE and Streamable HTTP to stdio reverse mode
- OAuth2 bearer and custom header auth
- Multi-server config behind one gateway
- Health endpoints and CORS support
Setup
Run npx -y supergateway --stdio "<your-mcp-server-command>" --port 8000.
Prerequisites
Node.js with npx; an MCP server that speaks stdio.
