About

SuperAGI (17,703 GitHub stars, MIT) was a prominent 2023-2024 open autonomous-agent platform: agent builder GUI, toolkits, multi-agent support, and a marketplace.

Status: stale. Last push January 2025 — over 18 months without meaningful updates. The platform was significant in the 2023 agent wave, but the market moved to maintained frameworks (CrewAI, LangGraph, AutoGen successors). MIT license is clean, but unmaintained code is a liability. Included for completeness; do not start new projects on it.

What it can do

  • • Autonomous agent platform (2023-era)\n• GUI agent builder\n• Toolkits and multi-agent support\n• Agent marketplace (historical)

Setup

Not recommended for new builds (stale since Jan 2025). For reference: git clone https://github.com/TransformerOptimus/SuperAGI. Use maintained frameworks instead.

Prerequisites

Python; an LLM API key (for the original code).
