Suna
An open-source generalist AI agent that browses, codes and ships real work.
About
Suna is a fully open-source generalist AI agent built by Kortix, positioned as the open alternative to closed agents like Manus. You describe a goal in plain language and it plans, browses the web, fills forms, scrapes data, writes and runs code, manages files and deploys websites, iterating until the task is done. It talks to many LLMs through LiteLLM and connects to services like GitHub and Supabase.
The project caught fire on GitHub with over 20,000 stars and is still actively pushed. It runs in the cloud with a free tier or self-hosts via Docker for teams that want data to stay on their own infrastructure. Kortix has since folded Suna into a broader Git-based agent platform with thousands of app connectors and team plans.
As with any autonomous agent, results vary by task and model, and running browser automation and shell commands deserves the usual caution about permissions and review.
What it can do
- Autonomous multi-step task execution from natural language
- Browser automation: navigation, forms, extraction
- Web scraping and cross-source research
- File, document, spreadsheet and presentation management
- Command-line execution and website deployment
- Multi-LLM support via LiteLLM
- Self-hosting via Docker with web UI
Setup
- Open the GitHub repo and follow the quick-start (Docker or direct install).
- Add your LLM API keys (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, and others).
- Open the web UI, describe your task and let the agent run.
- For private use, self-host on your own server or VPC.
Prerequisites
LLM API keys; Docker for self-hosting (optional); review agent actions on sensitive tasks.

Trust score — 8/10
Scored 8/10 (verified tier, metrics-v1). Evidence: 20,276 GitHub stars and a push on 2026-10-16 verified via GitHub API; Apache-2.0 per project docs (API license detection: none); cloud + Docker self-host documented. Strengths: genuinely open, auditable, strong community traction. Docked for: (1) agent reliability varies by task and model; (2) commercial platform direction may outpace the OSS core. License: Apache-2.0 per project docs (GitHub reports no detected license file).
