sudocode

sudocode is a git-native context management system for AI-assisted software development. It organizes the chaos of human-AI collaboration into a 4-tiered abstraction: Spec (user intent), Issue (agent-scoped work items), Execution (agent run trajectory), and Artifact (code diffs and output). The core proposition is context-as-code: context is git-tracked, distributed, and mergeable.

By storing intent, tasks, and trajectories in the repo itself, sudocode reduces agent hallucinations and amnesia that come from ephemeral chat history, and gives teams a shared, auditable database across environments through git sync. The monorepo ships a CLI (@sudocode-ai/cli), an MCP server wrapper, a local backend, and a React UI, with a Claude Code plugin install path.

The honest picture: sudocode competes for mindshare with spec-driven frameworks like OpenSpec; its differentiator is the git-native execution tracking rather than spec authoring. It is a younger project, so ecosystem integrations are narrower. Forks exist (one rebrands it with BMAD Method integration), which is normal for early open source but worth knowing when choosing the canonical repo.
