Strands Agent Skills
Agent Skills implementation for the Strands Agents SDK using the meta-tool pattern.
About
aws-samples/sample-strands-agents-agentskills is an Agent Skills implementation for the Strands Agents SDK (AWS's open-source agent framework) demonstrating the meta-tool pattern for dynamic tool composition and capability extension. Skills activate automatically based on query content via the AgentSkills plugin, with no wrappers or adapters needed.
A companion skill in awslabs/startups (solution-architecture/plugins/aws-dev-toolkit/skills/strands-agent) scaffolds new agents on Amazon Bedrock AgentCore in TypeScript or Python, covering tool selection, memory, observability via OTel, eval scaffolding, and AgentCore CLI deployment. Honest caveat: these are sample/educational implementations — production agents need hardening around auth, evals, and cost controls.
What it can do
- Meta-tool pattern for dynamic tool composition
- Capability extension for Strands agents
- Scaffolding skill for Bedrock AgentCore deployment
