Spline
Browser-based 3D design studio with AI text-to-3D, image-to-3D, and AI textures built in.
About
Spline is a collaborative, browser-based 3D design tool aimed at web designers and product teams who want interactive 3D without a modeling background. Its editor covers parametric modeling, physics simulations, path animations, and state-based interactions, and scenes export as embeddable web components, React components, or iframes that run with full interactivity in the browser.
Spline AI adds generation directly inside the editor: text-to-3D, image-to-3D, and text-plus-image-to-3D produce four preview variants per run that can be remixed into new variants, plus AI texture generation from text descriptions (up to 2048x2048) and AI style transfer over 3D scenes. Multiple generation engines (including Hunyuan3D and Trellis-class models) are available in one workspace, and real-time collaboration lets teams refine assets together like Figma for 3D.
Limitations: AI 3D generation requires a paid plan and is unavailable on the free tier. Generation is best for single organic objects rather than complex assemblies, and standard GLTF/GLB export does not preserve all Spline-specific interactivity. Detailed AI-generated scenes can hurt runtime performance on lower-end devices.
What it can do
- Text-to-3D and image-to-3D generation inside the editor
- AI texture generation from text descriptions
- Real-time collaborative 3D scene editing
- Export to web embeds, React, Swift/Xcode, and Android
Setup
Sign up at spline.design and open the browser editor; no install needed. AI generation requires a Pro/Team plan plus the AI add-on.
Prerequisites
A modern browser; a paid Spline plan for AI 3D generation features.
