Slido
Live Q&A, polls, and quizzes for meetings and events, now part of Webex.
Acquired — still operating
Acquired by Cisco (deal announced December 2020, closed 2021); continues to operate as Slido within the Webex portfolio.
About
Slido is an audience-interaction platform for live polls, Q&A with upvoting, quizzes, and word clouds during meetings and events. It was founded in 2012 in Bratislava, Slovakia by Peter Komornik, Peter Slivka, and Frantisek Krivda, and grew to about 7 million monthly participants while profitable on only around $40,000 of outside funding, per TechCrunch's reporting on PitchBook data. Cisco announced its acquisition in December 2020 for undisclosed terms, closed the deal in 2021, and folded Slido into Webex. It still works standalone and integrates with Webex, Microsoft Teams, PowerPoint, Google Slides, and YouTube; participants join with an event code or link and need no download.

Trust score — 8/10
Scored 8/10 (verified tier, metrics-v1). Evidence: 2012 Bratislava founding, founders, and the Cisco acquisition (announced Dec 2020, closed 2021, terms undisclosed) documented by TechCrunch, Wikipedia, and CRN. Strengths: best-in-class live Q&A UX, Cisco backing for enterprise trust, and genuinely broad integrations. Docked for: (1) fully proprietary; (2) standalone roadmap now bends to Webex priorities; (3) usage figures cited are from the 2020 acquisition era. License: proprietary.
