Skild AI
A unified robotics foundation model that gives one shared brain to any robot, from humanoid arms to quadrupeds.
About
Skild AI is building Skild Brain, an omni-bodied foundation model designed to control nearly any robot without knowing its body form in advance. Founded in 2023 in Pittsburgh by former CMU professors Deepak Pathak (CEO) and Abhinav Gupta (President), the company trains its model on simulated episodes and human-action videos, then fine-tunes it with data fed back from deployed robots. In April 2026 it acquired Zebra Technologies' robotics automation business, including the Symmetry fulfillment orchestration platform, to pair its model with warehouse fleet coordination.
The company says robots running Skild Brain handle tasks like climbing stairs, keeping balance after being shoved, and picking objects in cluttered scenes, with built-in power limits for safe force application. Those performance claims come from the company's own demonstrations, not independent testing. The funding is on the public record: close to $1.4 billion raised in January 2026 led by SoftBank Group with NVIDIA Ventures, Jeff Bezos, Sequoia, Lightspeed, Coatue and others participating, at a valuation over $14 billion. Revenue is still early, with the company reporting roughly $30 million reached within months of its 2025 launch.
What it can do
- Omni-bodied foundation model controlling quadrupeds, humanoids, arms, and mobile manipulators
- API abstraction so developers build robot apps without low-level control code
- Sim-to-real training pipeline on simulated episodes and human videos
- Fleet-level learning: deployed robots feed data back into the shared model
- Security/inspection and mobile manipulation platform examples
- Zebra Symmetry orchestration for warehouse fleet coordination
Setup
- Contact Skild AI through skild.ai to discuss deployment; this is an enterprise engagement, not a self-serve signup.
- Share your robot hardware and target tasks so the team can scope the Skild Brain integration.
- Work with their team on data collection and simulation tuning for your environment.
- Deploy the model to your fleet and monitor the shared-brain feedback loop.
Prerequisites
Robot hardware and an enterprise automation project; direct engagement with Skild AI.

Trust score — 8/10
Scored 8/10 (verified tier, metrics-v1). Evidence: $1.4B raise at $14B+ valuation announced via Business Wire (Jan 2026) with named investors; Reuters reported the Skild Brain unveiling and customer LG CNS; skild.ai verified live with product positioning. Strengths: enormous funding, top-tier backers, real acquisitions and enterprise pilots. Docked for: (1) capability and demo claims are vendor-stated with no independent verification; (2) proprietary closed product with no public pricing or self-serve path. License: proprietary.
