Shiori
A Pocket-inspired bookmark manager as a single Go binary: CLI plus web UI, with full offline page archives.
About
Shiori is an open-source bookmark manager written in Go, designed as a self-hosted alternative to Pocket. Its defining trait is portability: a single binary with no external dependencies that works as a command-line app and as a web app with a clean, searchable library. When you save a bookmark, Shiori parses the readable content and creates an offline archive, so saved pages stay readable even if the original site goes down or changes, with both a reader mode and a full page-snapshot archive mode.
It supports SQLite for zero-configuration setups plus PostgreSQL and MySQL/MariaDB for production, imports from Netscape bookmark files and directly from Pocket, and offers full-text search, tag organization, a versioned API, and beta browser extensions for Firefox and Chrome. The Docker image is around 30MB and it idles on roughly 30 to 50MB of RAM. With over 11,600 GitHub stars and commits landing in October 2026, it is one of the most-starred bookmark managers in the open-source world. MIT-licensed. No independent benchmarks are published.

Trust score — 8/10
Scored 8/10 (verified tier, metrics-v1). Evidence: GitHub API confirms 11,668 stars under MIT with a commit pushed 2026-10-11; independent comparisons confirm the single-binary design, offline archiving, Pocket import, and ~30MB footprint. Strengths: the most portable serious bookmark manager (CLI plus web in one binary), real offline archives, strong import/export story, MIT license. Docked for: (1) the browser extensions are still beta; (2) multi-user support is limited; (3) no independent benchmarks. License: MIT.
