About

21st.dev ships official agent skills (21st-dev/skill on GitHub) that teach coding agents its component marketplace inside the terminal. Four focused skills cover the full loop: 21st-cli-use for searching and installing components, themes and templates; 21st-ai for generating and iterating on designs; 21st-registry for publishing your own; and 21st-design-sync for turning a project's design tokens into a publishable theme. Installs cross-agent via skills.sh across 70+ supported agents, and there's a bundled Claude Code/Codex plugin with the 21st MCP server.

The honest picture: it's a storefront skill — genuinely useful if you live in the shadcn/React world, but it funnels you toward 21st.dev's registry and API key. Generated components still need a human eye for accessibility and edge cases, and publishing requires buying into their platform rather than plain npm.
