RestorePhotos
Free open-source AI tool that restores old and blurry face photos to sharp clarity.
About
RestorePhotos.io is an open-source web app that restores old, blurry face photos using the GFPGAN model served through Replicate. Built with Next.js, it sends an uploaded photo through the model via an API route and returns a sharpened, high-clarity version.
The project is a well-known blueprint for production AI apps, combining Vercel hosting, Bytescale storage, Auth.js with Neon for accounts, and Upstash Redis for rate limiting. The free tier allows a few restorations per day, the code is MIT-licensed on GitHub, and a Pro tier adds a private workspace for heavier use.
What it can do
- GFPGAN-based face photo restoration
- Next.js upload-to-inference-to-download pipeline
- One-click Vercel deploy
- MIT-licensed open-source codebase
Setup
Use the hosted app at restorephotos.io, or clone the GitHub repo and deploy with a Replicate API key.
