Repomix
Pack an entire repository into one AI-friendly file for feeding codebases to LLMs.
About
Repomix (yamadashy/repomix) is an open-source tool that packs an entire repository into a single AI-friendly file — XML, Markdown, or plain text — optimized for feeding codebases to LLMs like Claude, ChatGPT, DeepSeek, Gemini, and others. It handles glob include/exclude patterns, remote repositories (repomix --remote user/repo), stdin file lists, Docker execution, and generates token counts so you know the packed output fits your model's context window.
It has become a standard part of the AI-assisted development workflow: instead of pasting files one by one, developers run one command and get the whole codebase ready for analysis, refactoring, or documentation generation. Caveats: very large repos can exceed context limits even when packed (use --include globs to scope); and packed output includes whatever is in the repo, so secrets in the codebase would be exposed to the LLM — always check .gitignore handling before packing.
What it can do
- Whole-repo packing to XML/Markdown/text
- Remote repo packing via --remote
- Glob include/exclude patterns
- Token counting and output stats
- Docker and stdin pipeline support
Setup
Install via npm: npm install -g repomix, or run with npx repomix.
Prerequisites
Node.js; the repository you want to pack.
