pyVideoTrans
Open-source tool that translates videos and dubs them locally with AI voices.
About
pyVideoTrans is an open-source video translation and AI dubbing tool that runs entirely on the user's own machine. It chains speech recognition (faster-whisper), translation (local LLMs via Ollama), and voice cloning (built-in F5-TTS) to produce dubbed videos with no API keys, no uploads, and zero per-video cost. It is the only mainstream open-source dubber that assigns different voices to different speakers.
Released under GPL-3.0 and distributed for Windows, macOS, and Linux, it has attracted a large community (reviewer-reported 18,600+ GitHub stars) and supports both fully offline deployment and online APIs. Active development continued through 2026.
