About

Pipecat Skills is the official skills collection from Pipecat AI, the company behind the open-source Pipecat framework for realtime voice and multimodal agents. Maintained in the pipecat-ai/skills repository under a BSD-2-Clause license, it holds three skills covering how to start and deploy Pipecat projects and how to talk to agents through MCP.

Pipecat itself is one of the standard frameworks for production voice agents, handling the pipeline of speech-to-text, LLM reasoning, and text-to-speech with interruption handling and transport management. These skills give coding agents the framework-specific recipes — project scaffolding, deployment, and MCP interaction — that generic voice knowledge misses. The collection was verified active against its upstream head in late September 2026. A Python environment and API keys for the chosen STT/LLM/TTS providers are needed to run real pipelines.

What it can do

  • Scaffolding and starting Pipecat voice agent projects
  • Deploying realtime voice pipelines to production
  • Talking to Pipecat agents through MCP
  • Framework-specific recipes for STT-LLM-TTS orchestration with interruption handling
