OpenMuse
Open-source, self-hostable personal assistant for any harness.
About
OpenMuse is CopilotKit's MIT-licensed personal-agent application, built on CopilotKit and AG-UI and advertised as compatible with any agent harness. It runs its own server, task worker, and persistent Chromium browser worker, with an optional Linux workspace: the agent browses public pages, runs commands in its own container, works with files, and you can open its browser or terminal and take over mid-task. It ships iOS, Android, and web clients with Gmail and Calendar integrations, durable pausable tasks, and approval gates for actions. It is alpha — open-ended reasoning, live Google accounts, and Rich Threads need their own configuration, and graphical desktops plus autonomous checkout are future work. The GitHub repo holds 5,169 stars.

Use cases
Works with
Trust score — 5/10
Scored 8/10 (METRICS tier, metrics-v1). Evidence: MIT-licensed, fully auditable source from the CopilotKit team (github.com/CopilotKit/OpenMuse, 5,169 stars); repo publishes a verification document and roadmap; official URL verified live (200, Oct 2026); trending on Product Hunt Oct 16–17, 2026. Strengths: open source, named team, honest alpha labeling with documented limitations. Docked for: (1) alpha — open-ended reasoning and live Google accounts need manual configuration; (2) self-hosting burden including credential and container management; (3) graphical desktops and autonomous checkout still future work. License: MIT.
