Octomind is a German startup founded in 2023 by Marc Mengler and Daniel Roedler that built an AI agent for web testing. Given only a URL, the agent explores the application, decides what to test, writes Playwright end-to-end test code, runs it, and keeps the tests updated as the UI changes.
The company raised 4.5 million euros in seed funding in April 2024, led by Cherry Ventures with angels including Algolia's Sean Mullaney. Generated tests run locally or in CI pipelines with no vendor lock-in, since the output is standard Playwright code that teams own and can edit.
