About
OctoAI, formerly OctoML, was a Seattle-based inference platform spun out of the University of Washington's Apache TVM project. It served open-source foundation models like Llama, Mixtral, and Stable Diffusion behind OpenAI-compatible REST APIs, and offered OctoStack for private VPC and on-premises deployment.
Lifecycle note: NVIDIA acquired OctoAI in September 2024 (reported around $165-250M), and the company terminated all hosted services, accounts, and SDK access on October 31, 2024. The team and compiler technology were absorbed into NVIDIA's internal AI inference stack. It is listed here as a historical entry.
