About

Naio Technologies is a Toulouse, France company founded in 2011 by two robotics engineers, and one of the earliest pure-play agricultural robotics firms to reach the market. Its lineup covers Oz for market gardeners (hoeing, weeding, sowing, ridging), Dino for large-scale vegetable beds (row-straddling, RTK GPS plus camera-guided tools) and Ted for vineyards. The robots are fully electric, built to cut chemical inputs and replace repetitive manual labor, and the company says more than 250 robots are in circulation with over 60,000 hours of field work.

In 2021 Naio became one of the first companies to certify its full range for unsupervised operation, letting a farmer leave the robot working alone in a field. Newer versions, such as the 2025 Ted for vineyards, keep improving autonomy and adaptability. Pricing is quote-based through Naio and dealers. Caveat: mechanical weeding is slower than chemical passes and suits specific bed and row configurations; verify the tool fits your row spacing and weed spectrum before purchase.

Trust score — 7/10

/10 trustVerified

Scored 7/10 (verified tier, metrics-v1). Evidence: founded 2011, among the first to market; 250+ robots in circulation, 60,000+ field hours (provider-claimed); first to certify unsupervised operation. Strengths: long track record, certified autonomy, named deployments including Hennessy vineyards. Docked for: (1) fleet stats are vendor-reported; (2) mechanical weeding has throughput limits vs chemical alternatives. License: Proprietary hardware + software; quote-based pricing.
