Google MusicFX
Google's experimental text-to-music tool with prompt chips and a live DJ mode.
About
MusicFX is Google's experimental music generator, built on the MusicLM research model and available through the AI Test Kitchen. You type a text prompt describing the music you want and get short instrumental tracks up to 70 seconds long, with the option to extend or loop them. Its signature trick is prompt chips: keywords in your prompt become dropdown menus with alternatives, so refining a track is a few clicks rather than a rewrite. A DJ Mode turns it into a live performance tool for building evolving loops, which musician Jacob Collier helped showcase.
It is an experiment, not a product. Google can change or shut it down at any time, it cannot generate vocals, and it refuses prompts naming real artists. Output quality is decent for backing tracks and game music but tends toward the generic, and availability has historically been limited by region.
